Alfriston Visitors Guide

Alfriston is a village in East Sussex. Alfriston lies in the River Cuckmere valley, about four miles North East of Seaford and south of the main A27 trunk road.

Alfriston is very popular with tourists and consequently has a good number of gift shops.

Alfriston has a village green, known as the Tye. In the centre of the Tye is St. Andrew's Church which lies on a raised mount surrounded by a flint wall. Next to it is the Alfriston Clergy House, the first property purchased by the National Trust and still one of their properties today.

The centre of Alfriston is the Market Square with its market cross.

Alfriston has a number of pubs and restaurants, and a number of the pubs have rooms available to stay.

Alfriston has a youth hostel operated by the Youth Hostels Association
